The first event marks a historic occasion, while the second brings to the state the organization’s new President and CEO Cornell William Brooks. There were numerous depressing facts contained in the Task Force report. For instance, nearly 40 percent of Black children in Indianapolis are living in poverty, and 60 percent in single-parent homes. The unemployment rate for Black youth in Marion County (ages 16-19) is almost triple that of the youth average throughout the state. Add other equally sad statistics like higher rates of suspensions, low attendance figures in schools, higher juvenile arrests, and the picture is not a good.

The subsequent 102-page report that they released a few weeks ago offered a lot of grim statistics regarding a disproportionate amount of crime, lack of jobs and the impact of poverty

Ross and Cassavetes are working in conjunction with the Geno Taylor and Apocalypto Films to write and produce the screenplay to Ross’ life. The untitled, autobiographical film will reveal the truth about his Los Angeles upbringing, his struggle to become fiscally successful and change the direction of his life.
